LIVESTREAM HELP - We are needing to train a third person on live streaming for Sunday Adult Bible Study and Worship service time. There are some dates coming up in March, May and June that we will need coverage for. Please contact Brent or Tanner for details. This would involve setting up the iPad, logging onto Facebook and our church website, copying and pasting some links, maybe adjusting some volumes during the worship service periodically. We would also show you how to set up the video camera and amplifier for use with the Fellowship Hall TV / Sound System.
THE SIGN-UP SHEET - for hosting the midweek Lenten meals can be found on the bulletin board by the church office. These meals will be served on Wednesday evenings from March 12th through April 9th beginning at 6:15 pm.
ASH WEDNESDAY - is March 5th as we begin the penitential season of Lent. We will hold a 7:00 pm Service on Ash Wednesday with the Imposition of Ashes as well as Holy Communion being offered. Lenten midweek Services will continue for the following five Wednesday evenings (March 12th – April 9th) also at 7:00 pm with a meal for the whole congregation to precede each of those five Services.
THANK YOU - “My family and I would like to thank everyone for all their support since my cancer diagnosis. From the cards and sweet gifts, to the benefit luncheon, the blanket and all of the continued prayers. Thank you to those who made the food, served the food and attended the luncheon. We would also like to thank Pastor for coming to pray with us on surgery day and being with family as they waited for my surgery to be finished. We can’t say thank you enough for all of your support for our family.” ~ Ashley Jowers and family
DIRECTORY - Two draft copies of the new church directory can be found on the table by the coat rack in the fellowship hall. Please proofread and make notes or corrections on the inside of the back cover. You can also help by encouraging those members, friends, relatives with no picture to get their picture taken or to submit one as soon as possible. Final submission deadline will be Wednesday, March 26th so that we can have final copies available by the April voters’ meeting. There is also a sign-up sheet for those desiring a paper copy of the directory. See Brent for any questions.
LADIES BIBLE STUDY - continues tomorrow evening (Monday) at 6:30 pm as they read through the book: “Promised Hope: Finding Peace in God’s Faithfulness”.
SUNDAY SCHOOL - During the Sunday School hour (9:30-10:15 am) the adult class is beginning an evangelism study: “Every One His Witness” as we learn how to share our faith.
ATTENTION YOUTH - The Middle and High School Sunday School class is starting a new study entitled “How We Got the Bible” during the Sunday School hour. All middle and high schoolers are encouraged to participate!
WEDNESDAY EVENING BIBLE STUDY -On Wednesday evenings through February 26th from 7:00-8:00 pm we are taking a look at “See Through the Scriptures”. This study helps us grasp the big story that unfolds from Genesis to Revelation and that reveals God’s plan for humanity in time and for eternity. It’s not too late to join as together we seek to follow our Lord in our lives and remain faithful to His word.
5th THROUGH 8th GRADERS - The Kansas District is holding the annual Middle School Huddle on April 5th-6th at Rock Springs 4-H Ranch (south of Junction City). The theme of the Huddle is “The Armor of God” and the purpose is to encourage middle school students in their faith through God’s Word. Specifically, this retreat will explore how to stand strong in faith, equipped with the spiritual armor that God provides. Our youth leader, Jill Kruse, is willing to take as many 5th—8th graders that want to attend. Please see Jill for any questions you may have.
PRIVATE CONFESSION & ABSOLUTION - Pastor Slater will be available in his office, for any individuals who would like to have private Confession and Absolution in preparation for receiving Holy Communion, from 9:00am to Noon, each Saturday prior to the Sundays in which the Lord’s Supper will be celebrated. This is of course voluntary and not required for receiving Communion. Just an opportunity to further prepare your heart and mind for anyone who might so desire. See the November Calendar and Notes for more on this. Any questions, please let Pastor know.
THE FEBRUARY CALENDAR and NOTES - can be found on the stand in the narthex.
BOARD of MISSIONS COLLECTION - For the month of February we are collecting non-perishable food items for the Canton Food Bank. Donated items can be placed in the cart located by the church office. Thanks!
