THANKSGIVING DINNER - On Sunday, November 9th, we will be having our annual Thanksgiving Dinner! Turkey, dressing, potatoes and vegetables will be furnished. We ask the congregation to bring sides and desserts. We need volunteers to make turkey and dressing. Please see Becky Moddelmog if you are willing to help with those items. Hope to see you all there!
THE YOUTH GROUP - meets this Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm. Dinner will be served at 7:00 and all youth from 6th grade through high school are invited and encouraged to attend.
THURSDAY BIBLE STUDY - On Thursdays we have two opportunities to gather for Bible study, one at 10:30 am and then again at 7:00 pm. It is the same study during each of the two times as we continue looking at some of the ā3:16ā as a way of studying the Bible. Hopefully one of the two times can work for most everyone as together we grow in our knowledge of the Lord and His Word and grow in faith in Him.Ā
THE NOVEMBER CALENDAR and NOTES - can be found on the stand in the narthex. Sorry about it being late!
MATINS SERVICES - are held each Wednesday morning at 9:00 am. We are reading through the Augsburg Confession as a part of these Services.
THE BOARD OF MISSIONS - is sponsoring a āGiving Treeā for the month of November. All month long we are gathering new gloves, mittens, stocking caps, scarves and socks for men and women. At the end of the month, we will then donate these to the Omega Project located in McPherson. Please bring your unwrapped items and place them in the donation box located in the Fellowship hall next to the tree decorated with mittens, gloves and socks! Thank you for your donations and letās help make it a warm winter for them.Ā
CHILDRENāS CHRISTMAS PROGRAM - practice to start November 16th during Sunday School at 9:30 am and continuing every Sunday through December 21st. We will start with learning the songs. Anyone that is interested in doing a musical solo, whether instrumental or vocal, please contact Wanda Salmans, Hannah Jones, or Caley Moddelmog as soon as possible.Ā
THANKSGIVING FOOD VOUCHERS - The Canton-Galva Ministerial Alliance is giving $100 food vouchers to those needing some extra help this month in buying groceries. The vouchers can be used at Canton Lockers, Tin Roof Pantry (Galva), and Dales Supermarket (Hillsboro). If you or someone you know would benefit from this extra help, please see Pastor for a voucher.
SUNDAY SCHOOL - During the Sunday School hour (9:30-10:15 am) the adult class is beginning a study on the Augsburg Confession. The children and youth classes are also meeting for Sunday School. (although not this week and next as Pastor is on vacation. Instead we are looking at a two part video series). The children and youth classes are also meeting for Sunday School.
LADIES MONDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDY - continues on Monday evenings at 6:30 pm. The study is looking at āChosen: A Study of Estherā by Donna Snow. All ladies are welcome to join us.
LIVESTREAM HELP - We are needing to train a third person on live streaming for Sunday Adult Bible Study and Worship service time. There are some dates coming up in March, May and June that we will need coverage for. Please contact Brent or Tanner for details. This would involveĀ setting up the iPad, logging onto Facebook and our church website, copying and pasting some links, maybe adjusting some volumes during the worship serviceĀ periodically. We would also show you how to setĀ up the video camera and amplifier for use with the Fellowship Hall TV / Sound System.
PRIVATE CONFESSION & ABSOLUTION - Pastor Slater will be available in his office, for any individuals who would like to have private Confession and Absolution in preparation for receiving Holy Communion, from 9:00am to Noon, each Saturday prior to the Sundays in which the Lordās Supper will be celebrated. This is of course voluntary and not required for receiving Communion. Just an opportunity to further prepare your heart and mind for anyone who might so desire. Any questions, please let Pastor know.Ā
OCTOBER - DECEMBER PORTALS OF PRAYER Ā - (including large-print) can be found on the shelf in the narthex.
MY DEVOTIONS - September through November can be found in the narthex. These devotionals are great for our grade school and middle school youth in helping them grow in their faith in their Lord and connecting Jesus to their daily lives.
