ASCENSION DAY SERVICE -Our Lord ascended âto the right hand of God the Father Almightyâ on the fortieth day following His resurrection. We will be hosting an Ascension Day Service on Thursday, May 29th at 7:00 pm. Holy Communion will be served as we gather to receive our risen and ascended Lord and His gifts for us.
BOARD of MISSIONS COLLECTION -For the month of May we are collecting personal hygiene items for the inmates at the Hutchinson Correction Institution. The items that can accepted are very limited so the Board of Missions is asking those who want to help, to do so with cash donations that can then be used to purchase the limited items that are approved for this prison ministry. Thanks!
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL - Get ready for an unforgettable journey with Jesus as we embark on an âEpic Australian Adventureâ! This yearâs VBS will be Monday, July 28th through Friday, August 1st. Monday through Thursday sessions will run from 5:45-8:15 pm (includes a meal for the kids and volunteers). Friday will be a light meal at 6:15 pm followed by the VBS closing program at 7:00 pm. The age range is Pre-K through 5th grade.
MOWERS NEEDED - The sign-up sheet for mowing the church yard and the cemetery can be found on the bulletin board in the narthex. The church yard and cemetery are separate lines to help keep it from being such a big job. You can also ask someone else to âteam upâ with you as far as mowing and the trimming. So please consider signing up if you are able to help at all. Thanks!Â
SUNDAY SCHOOL - During the Sunday School hour (9:30-10:15 am) the adult class is continuing an evangelism study: âEvery One His Witnessâ as we learn how to share our faith with those whom the Lord places in our lives. The Middle and High School Sunday School class is looking at various videos regarding the Bible and our faith. Sunday the 18th, is the last Sunday for the youth Sunday School classes until late summer.
LIVESTREAM HELP - We are needing to train a third person on live streaming for Sunday Adult Bible Study and Worship service time. There are some dates coming up in March, May and June that we will need coverage for. Please contact Brent or Tanner for details. This would involve setting up the iPad, logging onto Facebook and our church website, copying and pasting some links, maybe adjusting some volumes during the worship service periodically. We would also show you how to set up the video camera and amplifier for use with the Fellowship Hall TV / Sound System.
PRIVATE CONFESSION & ABSOLUTION - Pastor Slater will be available in his office, for any individuals who would like to have private Confession and Absolution in preparation for receiving Holy Communion, from 9:00am to Noon, each Saturday prior to the Sundays in which the Lordâs Supper will be celebrated. This is of course voluntary and not required for receiving Communion. Just an opportunity to further prepare your heart and mind for anyone who might so desire. See the November Calendar and Notes for more on this. Any questions, please let Pastor know.Â
THE MAY CALENDAR and NOTES - can be found on the stand in the narthex.
APRIL â JUNE PORTALS OF PRAYER Â - (including large-print) can be found on the shelf in the narthex.
MY DEVOTIONS - for March through May can be found in the narthex. These devotionals are great for our grade school and middle school youth in helping them to grow in their faith and connecting Jesus to their daily lives.Â
