MORNING MATINS SERVICES - are being offered each Wednesday morning at 9:00 am. We are reading through the Augsburg Confession as a part of these Services. Please join if you can.Ā
GIVING OPPORTUNITIES - As Christians, we love giving. But what if you could not only give to a worthy cause but also receive a state income tax credit for your giving! The State of Kansas has two fairly new tax credit programs that are worth considering. They are:Ā
1)a 75% tax credit for donations to organizations that provide educational scholarships to low income students. In response to this, the Kansas District has set up the Kansas Lutheran School Scholarship Foundation (KLSSF) to receive donations that are eligible for the 75% credit and then distribute those funds to the various LCMS Lutheran schools scattered across the state. You can see Pastor Slater or go to www.klssf.org to donate or to learn more.Ā
Ā 2) a 70% tax credit for donations to eligible pregnancy care centers. There are two organizations in Hutchinson (Birthright and Open Door Pregnancy Care Center) plus the Hope Womenās Center in Newton that are eligible to receive donations qualifying for this tax credit. Again, see Pastor Slater if you have any questions.Ā
MOWERS NEEDED - The sign-up sheet for mowing the church yard and the cemetery can be found on the bulletin board in the narthex. The church yard and cemetery are separate lines to help keep it from being such a big job. You can also ask someone else to āteam upā with you as far as mowing and the trimming. So please consider signing up if you are able to help at all. Thanks!Ā
LIVESTREAM HELP - We are needing to train a third person on live streaming for Sunday Adult Bible Study and Worship service time. There are some dates coming up in March, May and June that we will need coverage for. Please contact Brent or Tanner for details. This would involveĀ setting up the iPad, logging onto Facebook and our church website, copying and pasting some links, maybe adjusting some volumes during the worship serviceĀ periodically. We would also show you how to setĀ up the video camera and amplifier for use with the Fellowship Hall TV / Sound System.
PRIVATE CONFESSION & ABSOLUTION - Pastor Slater will be available in his office, for any individuals who would like to have private Confession and Absolution in preparation for receiving Holy Communion, from 9:00am to Noon, each Saturday prior to the Sundays in which the Lordās Supper will be celebrated. This is of course voluntary and not required for receiving Communion. Just an opportunity to further prepare your heart and mind for anyone who might so desire. Any questions, please let Pastor know.Ā
JULY - SEPTEMBER PORTALS OF PRAYER Ā - (including large-print) can be found on the shelf in the narthex.
MY DEVOTIONS - September through November can be found in the narthex. These devotionals are great for our grade school and middle school youth in helping them grow in their faith in their Lord and connecting Jesus to their daily lives.
